1. What are your reasons for having a LJ?
Well, Abby has had one for ages and because she is friends only and talks about me in it I wanted to read what she says about me. I also got it so I could rant and it really does help.

2. What do you do before bedtime?
Turn off my computer, brush my teeth, get changed, read, go to sleep.

3. What will your dream wedding be like?
Small, with family and close friends.

4. What is the city of your dreams and why?
I would love to go to New York City so that I could go see musicals on Broadway. Now having said that I wouldn't want to live there but to visit occasionally would be wonderful.

5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Extrovert

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
I'll be selfish and say being loved. I thrive on it.<--Abby said this and I would have to agree.

7. Do you trust easily?
Not with most people, but certain people I trust fairly easily if we click, like Abby.

8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
Sulk for a while, then get over it.<--Again Abby said this and I would have to agree.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
The fact that when I got offered a job and I asked for an extra day to consider it, they told me that they couldn't wait and would hire someone else. Because of this attitude I thanked them for the opportunity and told them I had to reject it then, so now I am worried I won't get a job at all.

10. What is your best quality?
I can never answer these questions, because I don't know what mine is.<--Another Abby comment that I agree with.

Well I have only been tagged once so not so sure.

umm...not sure.

She's a sweetheart, and very pretty :) <--Ditto again and She is a goofball as well as my hero :D

15. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor?
Happily married and poor.

16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
One, but I would be fine with two even though I love children.

17. What's better, to give or to receive?
I like giving presents because of the reactions you get to see on peoples faces, but then again I am pretty selfish and I love getting presents when they are unexpected and thoughtful so it is really hard to decide.

18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
I'm not entirely sure, because I've never been in a situation even remotely like that. I suppose the one who liked me back and who I could see a future with.<--Ditto again Abby.

19. What would you do if you (or your girlfriend) became pregnant unexpectedly?
I would have to keep it I think. Just because I am pro-choice doesn't mean I am pro-abortion for everyone. I respect everyone's right to choose but my choice would be to keep it because I couldn't deal with the concequences of an abortion personally as selfish as that sounds.

20. What is your biggest fear?
Never finding true love.

This is just a rant because typing my story seems to help with my anger. Why can't I find a job? It bothers me so much that some people who don't have any experience or aren't as deticated to their work can find a job while I can't. During my job searches I can find jobs that look really good until you get to the part that wants you to speak punjabi or something (not that I have anything against punjabi, its just that I can't speak or understand it at all) or it says you need experience in retail. In fact most of the retail jobs say experience required, but how is one supposed to get experience if it is a requirement for all retail jobs. Grrrr....it bothers me so much. I really have only been looking for a job for about 2 weeks, so I know I just need to be patient, but I don't want to be patient. Oh well, I guess I will just keep trying.

This entry is more of a rant so you don't need to read it at all but I am trying to calm myself down and blogging seems to work for Abby so I will try it out.

So today is the day the IB results came out. but first this should be premised with what IB is and how it works. IB is a institution that is out to ruin my life and the lives of other naive intelligent high school students around the world (just kidding...well not really). Anyway this program makes you choose 6 courses from 6 different categories and then each of the courses is marked out of 7. But there are two useless things that one must do called Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and and Extended Essay (EE) which take up too much time to only be worth 3 points that no one gets anyway. So this gives you a total of 45. So that is IB in a nutshell. You get a 'predicted' grade out of 45 that is sent to universities to help the universities to decide whether or not they want you in their programs and whether or not you receive scholarships. I applied for some major entarance scholarships and ended up winning $7,000 which isn't to shabby but I wanted the $24,000 one obviously. This part will come in later.

My math teacher told me that he thought I could get a 7 in his class but he wasn't sure so he decided to predict me a 6. My geography teacher did the same type of thing except in stead of giving me a 6 he gave me a 5. Now this doesn't seem like such a big deal but these marks would have given me a total of 36 for a predicted grade which probably would have given me the $24,000 scholarship which pissed me off at the time but it gets worse. So this morning after panicing for months about my marks I log on to the IB site and low and behold I end up with a 7 in math and the 6 in geo, which really pissed me off because I knew I could get those marks and so did my teachers so they basically ripped me off of 17, 000 dollars. So I just want to say I pretty much hate them right now.

I mean the good thing is I did pretty well and even pleasantly surprised myself with the fact that I got and extra 6 in chemistry of all things (I really am horrible at chemistry)

Then with the EE and TOK I was predicted 3 points that didn't happen I didn't even get 1 point, it isn't as though I failed but they didn't give me any points which annoyed me even more because I spent so much time doing both of those and didn't get anything out of them.

So the end of the story is I passed the IB Diploma and the living hell that was IB is now over for me but I lost out on $17,000 because of some stupid teachers who probably didn't like the fact that I was a girl who did well in their classes. I just want to say FUCK you.

End of rant. If you made it that far I commend you. Abby's right it makes me feel better.

So I decided that my first ever entry should be the story behind my username: Beckiemort, what an unusual name you must be thinking, well the story goes like this. Ages ago (I think I was eleven, not that it matters really but on with the story) I was in the car with my friend Lauren and her mother and it all started with a conversation we were having about Harry Potter. I said something about how cool the name Voldemort was and thought 'hmm...I wish I had a name as cool as that' and out of the blue said 'I am Beckiemort, Mwahahaha' to which both Lauren and her mother burst out laughing. After they recovered from their laughter Julie (Lauren's mom) said 'you do know that mort means dead in french Beckie? That you will be known as Beckie-dead?' I knew this, but thought it made the name even cooler so I said that. I believe she just shook her head at me and ever since the name Beckiemort has stuck. So now you know the story behind the username.
